Optimize your Clubhouse Profile

First of all, Welcome to Clubhouse (CH: Clubhouse)! This is a quick guide on how to set up your profile page.

Profile Tips

  • Before you do anything, please put up a profile picture. Pick something you’ll like for the long-haul (or at least for more than a day). CH-ers get familiar with your photo. I’d be wary of changing it often; that can make it much harder to find you in a packed room.

  • Link your social media profiles. There’s no way to message someone via CH so it’s important to have your Twitter and/or Instagram linked and make sure your page is open so persons can connect with you.

  • Utilize the first 3 lines of your bio. Your first 3 lines is what everyone will see when they click on your icon. A captivating introduction to your profile will determine if someone swipes up (or clicks) to view the entire profile. Make sure it succinctly defines who you are, what you offer or what you hope to gain. Unlike your profile picture, this you should change often, until you get it right.

  • Whether or not you use emojis is truly your decision. There’s an ongoing discussion on their importance. Most emojis are searchable however flag emojis are not. So while I was able to search for the yogi emoji 🧘🏾‍♀️ and I can more easily connect with others who practice or are interested in yoga, I’m unable to search for persons from my home country when I tried searching for BVI/USVI 🇻🇬🇻🇮.

  • Use words that are searchable and precise. In my profile bio I have a section for “Keywords” where I list words that I want to associate myself and my account with. Think, IG hashtags. So I’ve included “yoga” which is a broad term and “Ashtanga” which is more precise. If anyone searches for Ashtanga, my account will show up on the list. You don’t need to necessarily have a section for tags, any word used in your bio is searchable.
